about

“Do I Really Wanna Be (A Rock Star)” is the first release from the ‘D.T.M.A (Dance This Mess Around)’ EP. I damn near killed myself grindin’ and tryin’ to be a “rock star.” This song begins to tell my story of failure and defeat, the #FallenWarrior. Must say, though, the fall has been worth the awakening.

“Forcin’ It” is the second track released from the ‘D.T.M.A. (Dance This Mess Around)’ EP. This song was a blast to write because Daniel, my brother, is featured on it. He and the band came up with all these hilarious scenarios of what “a force” is - you know, tryin’ to fit some shit into some other shit or make it sound like it’s some sweet shit when it’s actually really shit - like shitty - and it’s clearly and completely forced. I tried to force my music and myself to be a certain way, but my journey has taught me to be free and be myself. Don’t force it!

lyrics

INTRO:
Uh oh, Why y’all be forcin' it?
(What you talkin’ bout?) Please, please, please naw. (Please, whatever)
Look (don’t do it)

VERSE 1:
Saggin’ all y’all jeans
Ladies pushin' up y'all bra (No)
Makeup on the weekdays (No)
Y’all taking it too far
Y’all forcin’ it
Why you be forcin’ it? (Stop forcin’ it)

VERSE 2:
And of course it’s a force for you to support
All them damn name brands y’all can’t even afford (Whatever)
Why you be forcin’ it?
Why ya’ll be forcin’ it?

But you ridin’ the T and your purse cost a grand mama (Rear door!)
Your damn jeans cost more than your damn Honda (My man has a car at tome)
Forcin' it
Why you be forcin’ it?

PRE CHORUS
Why you goin’ to church with 5-inch stiletto shoes on
Talkin' bout your praising the lord
Force

CHORUS
Need to give it up
Be yourself you're going to far (4x)
Gotta be who you are
Don’t force it

VERSE 3
Walkin’ round town and you’re thinkin’ that you’re so fly
Need to get your shit together take a look inside why you be forcin’ it?

(And I said) Why you going to the club wearing sunglasses and shit and something
that your ass can’t even afford?
Force

CHORUS
Need to give it up
Be yourself you're going to far (4x)
You gotta be who you are
Don’t force it

BRIDGE:
I got a feeling that you wanna be yourself
But you keep giving yourself away
We should all get lalala…
We should all get lalala…

VERSE 4:
(Yeah stop forcing it
Stop forcin’ it
Wait! Please stop forcin’ it,
Stop forcin’ it Wait!)
Slowin’ it down
Pickin' it up
I can ride fast I can switch it up
Forcin' it, stop forcin’ it
That’s that shit that make me sick (Wack)
Told you once and I told you twice
Take my advice spread love and light (Listen)
Y'all know its wrong but I say it’s right
Y’all know it’s wrong but I say it’s right
Pregnant girls wit them heels on (No)
Hoopties wit wheels on (Uh Uh)
Gold teeth wif missin’ teeth
Long hair and that’s all weave
Y'all forcin’ it (I’m natural)

(Wait, wait, wait)
Got your pants down by your ass (No)
Boy you ain’t got no class (Pull that shit up)
You know that that look trash
Gotta get your mind in tact
Y'all forcing it (Get your mind together, (wait, wait) gotta get your mind together)

Poppin' bottles off in that club
Sippin’ that drink slow
When it come to payin that bill
Boy you ain’t got no dough
Y'all forcin’ it (Broke, broke, broke)

Yeah I said it y'all forcin’ it
It’s gotta stop, it’s gotta stop
Man please stop forcin’ it (Yeah)
Gotta get your mind together, y'all forcing it
(Those are designer jeans)
